Job Overview – Housekeeping Services Utility Worker

Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager, the Utility Worker is responsible for upholding the hospital’s cleanliness.

Responsibilities encompass cleaning, mopping, and dusting all sections within the hospital premises. Additionally, tasks involve floor maintenance (such as scrubbing and waxing), shampooing carpets and chairs, handling waste removal (both regular and hazardous), addressing chemical spills, assisting with laundry, preparing rooms for various purposes, cleaning windows (internally), applying salt during winter, tending to isolation room sanitation, and managing situations like floods and blood spills.

Your Profile

Completion of Grade 12/GED or equivalent professional background. Proficiency in effective communication. Applicants with expertise in cleaning and floor care will be given preference. Working Hours for Housekeeping Services

Compensation and Perks

Hourly pay ranges from $19.17 to $19.92.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of designated property zones, covering floors, walls, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  2. Remove trash from the property and empty trash cans.
  3. Execute additional cleaning and maintenance assignments as directed.
  4. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  5. Notify the Head Housekeeper of any maintenance or repair requirements.
  6. Uphold a tidy and organized workspace.

Requirements:

  1. Certificate of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Relevant experience of 1-2 years in a cleaning or maintenance role.
  3. Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  4. Proficiency in following instructions while maintaining a safety-conscious approach.
