The committee, chaired by Hon Woke Oke (PDP-OSUN), said the two representatives of the companies (Johnson Philip and Taiwo Idowu) belonged to the management cadres and as such were not authorized to appear before the committee under the rules of the House.

In response to a question from the chairman of the committee whether they were aware of the contribution submitted to the committee on the award and execution of the contractors in order not to mislead it, they both said no.

The committee therefore ordered the duo to leave immediately and ordered the directors or presidents of the companies to appear in person before the duo and explain the submission before the committee.

In addition, Hon Oke has instructed the Registrar of the Commission to write to the Registrar of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to finalize the Commission with the detailed information of the 20 companies involved, including year of incorporation, company offices, names of the owners, shareholders ao

According to him: “We are not concerned about who won the contracts, we want to deter the value for money and the locations of the projects, and we will carry out that mission to the letter.

“The clerk should also write to the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) to finalize the commission on the financial status of the companies.

Hon Oke assured that the commission would conduct a diligent investigation into the matter as she was interested in finding out the location of the projects and the importance of such projects to the country.
